We had the privilege to work on the Bayeux Tapestry, in Bayeux in Normandy, France.

This study aimed at setting preventive conservation recommendations. We enjoyed bringing in our expertise of mechanical engineering, by setting-up full-field monitoring of strain and stress on tapestry mock-ups (as shown on the right-hand side picture). Besides our monitoring, we helped design conservation solutions and characterise the sensitivity of the Tapestry to its surrounding climate.
